Campbell ~ Archie Whorton, Jr., 84 of Campbell, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at his residence in Campbell, Missouri.

Archie, son of Archie and Neoma Darter Whorton, was born on Friday, January 14, 1938 in Hector, Arkansas.

He retired from General Motors and the Campbell School after 17 years as a Bus Driver.  He was an avid music fan, he played music his whole life.

On August 7, 1965, in Eureka, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Peggy Perryman.  She preceded him in death on July 29, 1989.

His survivors include one son, Cary Whorton of Campbell; two daughters, Linda Sisco and husband, Tim of Beecher, Illinois, Victoria Newman and husband, Wade of Campbell; grandchildren, Meghan Sisco, Samantha Sisco, Jordan Whorton, Holden Newman and Christopher Newman; one sister, Wanda Malone of Cedar Hill, Missouri; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Kevin James Whorton; one brother, Gene Whorton; four sisters, Gladys Roberts, Edith Salle, Flora Mae Peterson and Betty Smith.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.  Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, August 19, 2022 at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell with Pastor Steven Bricker officiating.  Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Campbell, Missouri.

Landess Funeral Home and Crematory of Campbell will be in charge of the arrangements.
