Algene Smith was born on July 2, 1923 in Malden, Missouri to the late Arlan T. Moore & Effie Rhodes Moore. She departed this life on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Ridgeview Living Community in Malden at the age of 96 years 5 months and 24 days.

Algene Smith had worked as nurse for many years and was a member of the Malden Ladies Golf Association and also a member of the 1st Southern Baptist Church in Malden. She was united in marriage to J.G. Smith in Malden on September 26, 1946. He preceded her in death on April 24, 2000.

Her survivors include:
Brother: Kenneth Moore of Clinton, Missouri.
Sister: Linda Stokes and husband, John of Apple Valley, Minnesota.
Six Nephews: Rodney Stokes and wife, Jean Ann of Arlington, Texas, Bradley Moore and wife, Dr. Debbie Depew of Sullivan, Missouri, Kerry Moore and wife, Joye of Lake Winnebago, Missouri, Danny Moore, Chico Moore & Mike Moore of Anthony, Florida.
Three Nieces: Tammy Feigal and husband, John of Bloomington, Minnesota, Lana Bowman and husband, Don of Anthony, Florida & Darlene Dunbar of Reddick, Florida.
Goddaughter: Nancy Steward and husband, Matt of Campbell, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents & brother: Clifford Moore.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Landess Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m., with Reverend Aulden LeBlanc officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
