The late Alf "Bruh" Bateman was born December 11th, 1942 in Marston, Missouri to Alpha and Hattie Robison Bateman who proceeded him in death.

From a young age, he was a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church until family moved from Canalou, Missouri to Malden, Missouri in the mid 1960's.  Once in Malden, Alf became a member of Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he was a faithful member and served on the usher board until his health began to fail.

Alf leaves to cherish his only living sister, Algea B. Saunders of Fayetteville, North Caroline.  He also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Proceeding him in death is one brother, Louis Bateman and four sisters, Martha Triplett, Mary Cole, Myrtle Lewis and Annie Mae London.

Special thanks to his beloved niece, Margaret Longdon, for being his caretaker for many years.
